Shelf Control | The Raven Boys

Hey guys, I am back with another Shelf Control post giving some love to the books that I have had forever and still have not read yet. I thought that today I would go with a bit of a favourite in the hopes that if enough people tell me that I need to read it that I may actually do it some time soon. If you didn’t already know the Shelf Control meme was created by Bookshelf Fantasies, and every Wednesday we get to give the spotlight to some of the books that we otherwise wouldn’t get to talk about that are on our shelves. So lets get into my pick for this week;

When Did I Buy These Books?

I got the first book about four years ago when I was first getting back in to reading often but I didn’t pick up the rest of the series until two years later when I picked up the last three books all at once, as always I wanted to marathon the series so needed all of the books first, haha.

Why Did I Buy It?

I have heard nothing but amazing things about this series and it has received so much hype over the years. The idea of the series just sounds so exciting as well! I mean there are ghosts, laylines, and dead kings. Fantasy books that involve some kind of mystery and paranormal will always interest me.

Why Haven’t I Read It Yet?

I have a few reasons that I haven’t read this series yet and the biggest one is that I didn’t like Linger by Maggie Stiefvater. If you read my book unhaul challenge post then you will know that I read Shiver a long time ago and enjoyed it but that I DNF’d Linger multiple times and have now given up on reading that series and that has kind of put me off reading her other books. I do think that this series will be quite different from her other one but I just haven’t tried it out to see if it is or not yet. The hype is another reason that I have been putting off this series, if I am being honest I am pretty intimidated by how much people love this series and I will really want to love it as well. I really just need to get to this series and see what it is like for myself, so maybe it will be one that I will get to soon.
