Books I Need To Read Before The End Of The Year

Hey guys, so it is coming up to the end of the year and there are still sooo many books that I need to get to before it is over!! My TBR is giant as you may know but I do have some semblance of a order to which I read them in, but it does rotate as new books come out or I learn about some books that I didn’t know about before, so books get pushed down my TBR and I don’t get to them. But now that we are nearing the end of the year there are some books that I feel that I just need to get to right away. These books fall into a few categories; 2018 releases, books where I need to finish or catch up on the series, and contemporaries. These are all kind of related to my bookish goals for the year so that is another reason that I need to get to them. Anyway lets get on to the books that I need to read;

The Silver Mask & The Golden Tower by Holly Black and Cassandra Clare

These are the forth and fifth books in the Magesterium series that I have been absolutely loving!!! The fifth and final book was released on the 11th of September so I should be getting to these books first (fingers crossed). I cannot wait to complete this series and get an ending, I am incredibly excited!!!!

Tower of Dawn & Kingdom of Ash by Sarah J Maas

I love Sarah J Maas’ books and usually read them as soon as they come out but I have been putting off reading Tower of Dawn for such a long time and I am incredibly apprehensive about Kingdom of Ash now that I know that it is going to be 1000 pages long!! I really don’t know if I can commit that much time to reading a single book, it will also be the biggest book that I have ever read. Even though these books are huge and I am kind of intimidated at the thought of reading them, I still want to get to them before the end of the year because I need to know what happens at the end!

Children of Blood and Bone

Children of Blood and Bone by Tomi Adeyemi

This is a 2018 release that everyone has been in love with and that I still haven’t read yet. I bought this book almost exactly after it came out and was planning on reading it straight away but then it received so much hype and it just made the book so much more intimidating to me. I would love to be able to get to this book before the end of the year because I am sure that it is going to be on so many peoples favourite books of the year lists and I would really like to be able to relate 😀

Daughter of the Pirate King & Daughter of the Siren Queen by Tricia Levenseller

I bought these books pretty recently and I am really excited to get to them. This is a duology so I will get to read these two books and have completed the series which is awesome. I have heard nothing but amazing things about these books and I cannot wait to read them for myself and see how I like them.

Tales from the shadowhunter academy

Tales from the Shadowhunter Academy by Cassandra Clare, Sarah Rees Brennan, Maureen Johnson, & Robin Wasserman

I am very behind on my shadowhunter books and honestly need to catch up but I am 100% sure that I cannot get to both this book, Lady Midnight, Lord of Shadows and Queen of Air and Darkness before the end of the year so I would be happy if at least get to this one 😀 I read the first story in this book years ago when they were released individually and then just never got around to reading the rest. Lets hope that I get to this so that I can continue with the others next year.

It Wasn't Always Like This

It Wasn’t Always Like This by Joy Preble

This is a book that I have been looking forward to reading for years and I actually cannot believe that I finally got a copy! If I haven’t read this book by the end of the year then I will be incredibly disappointed. I am really hoping that it will be as good as I think it will be because I haven’t seen anyone talk about it before so don’t really have any reviews to get a baseline from.

Saint Anything

Saint Anything by Sarah Dessen

I have recently renewed my love of Sarah Dessen’s books and this is the next one that I want to get to. I also still need to catch up on my contemporaries for the year so this one will be good for that too 😀 I am really hoping that I like this book and then continue on with the other books of hers that I own.

The Unexpected Everything

The Unexpected Everything by Morgan Matson

This is one of Morgan Matson’s books that appeals to me the most and I have honestly been putting off because it is a really long book, its 519 pages which is pretty long for a contemporary and I really don’t know if a contemporary book could hold my attention for so long. I really hope that I do finally get to this one by the end of the year and see what I think of it.

What books do you guys want to get to before the years is over? Let me know if you have read any of these books and what you thought of them

Thank you for reading!
