Weekly Wrap Up 13-19 Aug

Hey guys, I am happy to say that I read quite a bit more this week and actually ended up finishing two books which is awesome and I am finally getting back on track with my reading πŸ˜€ I also loved both of the books that I finished this week as well as the ones that I am still reading which is always a great thing. So anyway lets get into what I read this week;

What I Read This Week

Record of a Space Born FewDown Among the Sticks and Bones

Record of a Spaceborn Few by Becky Chambers

I received this book for review from Netgalley and absolutely loved it and gave it five stars. I have loved every book in this series and this one actually may be my favourite, but it is very hard to choose between them all πŸ˜€ I love how character driven these books are and how we get to learn and understand so much about the world that they are living in. In this book we follow five perspectives within the Fleet, which is something that I find really interesting. All of these perspectives are very different and show so many different aspects and experiences. I have written a full review for this book but it does contain spoilers so if you haven’t read it yet and don’t want to be spoiled then I wouldn’t read it just yet, but if you are interested I will leave a link here.

Down Among the Sticks and Bones by Seanan McGuire

I gave this book five stars and loved it so much more than I thought I would. This is the second book in the Wayward children series and while I adored the first book I didn’t know if I would like the second one as much since we just follow two of the characters in the events before the first book. Since we had already been told what happened to these characters I thought that I would be kind of bored and just wanting to get to the next book but even though I knew what was going to happen I still loved it. I loved getting to have so much detail to their story and getting to really live with them through it. I haven’t written my reviews for this series yet but I will be getting onto that soon if you guys want to read my full thoughts.

What I Am Currently Reading

download (7)Beneath the Sugar Sky

Stalking Jack the Ripper by Kerri Maniscalco

I have been reading this book for quite a while now and for some reason I just cant get through it very fast. I think that it is the writing style and the time period that it is set in maybe but it just cant really hold my attention for long enough for me to read any sizeable amount of it. Even though it is taking me a long time to read it I am still enjoying it just not as much as I thought I would. I am really hoping to finish this book soon and see what happens in the end.

Beneath the Sugar Sky by Seanan McGuire

This is the third book in the Wayward children series and I am loving this even more than the others and that is because we get to go back and see the characters from the first book! πŸ˜€ One of my favourite things about this series are the incredibly imaginative worlds, I love learning about them and seeing the people who choose to live there. I am about half way through this one and will be finishing it very soon, probably by the end of tonight and I cannot wait to read more of it.

So those are all of the books that I read this week. What did you guys read and let me know if you have read any of these books and what you thought of them πŸ™‚

Thank you for reading!
