Weekly Wrap Up 16-22 July

Hey guys, I had an awesome reading week! I was participating in a read-a-thon and really enjoyed it, I read a lot of books that I had been putting off for years and I loved all of them which to me now means that I should get to all of the others because I could love them too. I did take off one day from reading in the middle of the week because I had some other things to do but other than that I did do a lot of reading. I loved everything that I read this week so lets get into them;

What I Read This Week

The Martian by Andy Weir

I was pretty sure that I was going to love this book and I was right! I had been putting off reading this book because I had already watched the movie, so I know what happens in the book, which did actually lower my enjoyment some just because there are many moments in the book where you don’t know if things are going to work out or how he is going to get out of something but I knew them all because of watching the movie. I still gave the book five stars though, I absolutely loved the humour in this book, it make me laugh so many times and was definitely my favourite aspect. It was a little science heavy especially compared to Artemis, which is still my favourite book.

Once and for All by Sarah Dessen

I hadn’t actually planned on reading this book at all, I chose this one for the read the first chapter challenge of the read-a-thon and had already decided that I was going to read one of the shorter ones, but then I read the first chapter and could not stop reading. I read this book in one day and I absolutely loved it! I had been putting off reading Sarah Dessen’s books for a long time because I first read and loved them when I was about 14 or 15 and since my tastes have changed I thought that maybe I wouldn’t enjoy her books anymore but that is completely untrue, I loved everything about it and I am going to be reading her other books that I own pretty soon since I have gotten back my love of Sarah Dessen 😀

What I Am Currently Reading

One of Us is Lying by Karen M. McManus

I picked up this book because I have heard so many good things about it and I really want to try out some new genre of books, this book is considered to be mystery/ thriller which I have never read before but I am trying to get into. My only problem with this genre is I hate not knowing what is going on, I always like feeling like I know how a book is going to end but dear god I have no idea with this one, I have a lot of theories but I feel like I am just missing something and it is just going to come out of nowhere and blind side me but we will have to see. I am about 120 pages into this and I am enjoying it so far, I just really need to know how it ends so I might finish it today or tomorrow because I need to know! 😀

What books did you guys read this week and if you have read any of these books let me know what you thought of them 🙂

Thank you for reading!
