Book Unhaul Challenge

Hey guys, I did a recent tally of all of my unread physical books and I have almost 300! I have had most of these books for years and years and so think that now it is definitely time to let some of them go because I am just never going to get to them. I saw the book unhaul challenge going around on YouTube a little while ago and thought that it would be a great way to think about all of the books that I have and decide if I want to keep them or let them go. I have made a YouTube video on my channel for this challenge if you would prefer to watch it there I will leave a link here, but if you would prefer to just read it then keep going 😀 So here are the books that I am unhauling;

A Book You Rated Low

Dark Flame & Ever Lasting by Alyson Noel

These are the fourth and fifth books in the Immortals series and I read them quite a few years ago now. I did enjoy them at the time but the last two books just didn’t really do it for me. I felt like it was dragging on and that things were just added to further the plot and I just lost interest really and so ended up giving these books maybe three stars.

A Book You Changed Your Mind About

Destined by P.C. & Kristin Cast

This is the ninth book in the House of Night series, I read the first eight back when I was a teenager and really loved them at the time and so I decided to read the ninth book a couple of years ago just to finish off this series but I just didn’t enjoy it as much anymore. I found the characters to be really annoying and the plot was quite extreme and all over the place so that has really changed my mind on this series now.

A Series You Wont Be Completing

Hidden & Revealed by P.C. & Kristin Cast

These are the tenth and eleventh books in the House of Night series, and this pick is similar to the one above as I have really changed my mind on this whole series and really don’t think that I will end up finishing the series.

A Book You DNF’d

Linger by Maggie Stiefvater

I have tried to read this book on three separate occasions and DNF’d it every time. I read Shiver, the first book in this series a long time ago and really enjoyed it but felt that it could have just ended there, the book kind of had a complete story and in Linger I found the characters to have changed and they were quite annoying. I also really couldn’t see this plot going anywhere and found it to be quite boring honestly.

A Book You Have Multiple Copies Of

The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins

I absolutely love this series. The copy I am getting rid of is the one that I read from years ago when I only owned the first book, since then I bought one of the new booksets so I no longer need the other one so I am letting it go.

A Book You’ll Never Actually Get To

Phantom by L. J. Smith

This book seems to be about eight books or so into the Vampire Diaries series but I don’t really know. One of my relatives bought this for me one Christmas a couple of years ago and I did try and read the first book in this series years ago and couldn’t get through it. I love the show but in the book the characters were very different and I found Elena to be a really annoying and just couldn’t read from her perspective.

A Book You Bought Because Of The Hype

Every Last Breath & The Return by Jennifer L Armentrout

For this one I chose to do the hype of an author and these two books I bought because I had heard great things about Jennifer L Armentrout’s books. I did buy these books a couple of years ago and my tastes have changed since then and I really don’t think that I will enjoy them anymore. Every Last Breath is the third book in a series so I would have to read the first two in order to get to it and similarly The Return is a spin-off from another series so I would have to read that one first to then get to this book so I don’t think that I will end up reading these books.

A Book You Bought Because Of The Cover

The Exiled Queen by Cinda Williams Chima

I don’t really have any books that I bought solely for the cover that I want to get rid of but this one is the closest. I do really like the cover but I did but it because of the author, I had heard some good things about Cinda Williams Chima’s books and so decided to pick up this book when I found it for a couple of dollars but it is the second book in a series and I cant see myself getting to it anytime soon so I am letting it go.

A Book You Don’t Know Anything About

Divine by Mistake by P.C. Cast

I bought this book back when I was still enjoying the House of Night series and wanted to read more from this author, but since I have changed my mind on her books I don’t think that I will read it unfortunately.

A Book You Didn’t Buy

Somebody’s Crying by Maureen McCarthy

My mom bought this book for me when I was maybe 13 or 14 and I did try to read it at the time but DNF’d and I really don’t think that I will ever get to it so it is time to let it go.

So that is the end of the unhaul book challenge, I actually ended up picking 13 books that I am letting go of which has given me some more shelf space for some up coming releases and honestly just for books that I am more interested in. I may do another one of these unhauls again soon since I do have almost 300 unread books and some of the I could really get rid off but we will have to see 😀

Thank you for reading!
