Hello, it is Tuesday again and so time for another Top 5 Tuesday topic. I unfortunately didn’t participate in the last two topics just because I got really sick and so wasn’t posting anything, but I am back now for this post and I am soooo excited about seeing the answers to this one 😀 If you didn’t know already this meme was created by Shanah at the Bionicbookworm and we get a bookish topic each week to talk about. This weeks topic is top 5 science fiction. If you don’t know by know I absolutely love science fiction, I have only recently found my love of it though and so I haven’t read too many from this genre yet and I am always looking for new books to read. So I have talked about a lot of these books already but I love them and will take any chance to talk about them again. So here are my top 5 science fiction books;
Artemis by Andy Weir
This book is fantastic! My favourite part of this novel really is all of the scientific aspects, Andy Weir really goes into a great amount of detail to explain how everything works with the characters living on the moon. The characters were all extremely funny and I loved watching them make plans and seeing how they handle it when they go wrong. I do have a full review for this book if you are interested in reading it here.
Warcross by Marie Lu
I loved the world of Warcross, it was extremely high tech and the video gaming aspects were so incredibly fun! The characters were all really interesting and had so many levels to them including a lot of eventful backstories. I have a full review for this book if you are interested in reading it here.
The Illuminae Files series by Amie Kaufman and Jay Kristoff
This is one of my all time favourite series of all time, with Illuminae actually being my all time favourite book. This series is amazing, we follow so many incredible characters as they travel through space being chased by a mega-corporation who wants them all dead since they are witnesses to their crimes. This series is an extremely wild ride and the format of this book makes it really unique and easy to read.
The Host by Stephenie Meyer
This is the first science fiction book that I read many years ago and I have re-read it many times since then. The aliens in this story are really interesting and I loved hearing about all of the other worlds that they have been to. I fell in love with all of the characters and really felt for them as so many things kept going wrong throughout the story.
The Loneliest Girl in the Universe by Lauren James
This story was so interesting and kept you guessing the entire time with so many twists and turns as well as revelations that never stop! I loved the concept of being the last person alive on a ship destined for a new planet and how isolating and scary that can really be.
Thank you for reading!
