Hey guys it is now May so it is time for my monthly TBR, I feel like this year is already going so fast but I have also read 24 books already so that makes me well ahead of my yearly goal which is pretty awesome! There are so many amazing new releases that come out this month and I am really excited to read them! I haven’t picked out too many books yet, just because I don’t really know what I am in the mood to read but I do have some that I will 100% get to as soon as I can. So here are the books that I plan on reading this month;
Warcross by Marie Lu
I have been wanting to read this book since it came out a few months ago but it was always sooo expensive. So I decided instead to get it out from my local library and I cannot wait to read it. I watched the Ready Player One movie when it came out and loved it and this book really gives me the same vibes 😀
For the millions who log in every day, Warcross isn’t just a game—it’s a way of life. The obsession started ten years ago and its fan base now spans the globe, some eager to escape from reality and others hoping to make a profit. Struggling to make ends meet, teenage hacker Emika Chen works as a bounty hunter, tracking down players who bet on the game illegally. But the bounty hunting world is a competitive one, and survival has not been easy. Needing to make some quick cash, Emika takes a risk and hacks into the opening game of the international Warcross Championships—only to accidentally glitch herself into the action and become an overnight sensation.
Convinced she’s going to be arrested, Emika is shocked when instead she gets a call from the game’s creator, the elusive young billionaire Hideo Tanaka, with an irresistible offer. He needs a spy on the inside of this year’s tournament in order to uncover a security problem . . . and he wants Emika for the job. With no time to lose, Emika’s whisked off to Tokyo and thrust into a world of fame and fortune that she’s only dreamed of. But soon her investigation uncovers a sinister plot, with major consequences for the entire Warcross empire.
A Court of Frost and Starlight by Sarah J Maas
I have been waiting for this book for such a long time, I loved the ending to the A Court of Thorns and Roses series and I cannot wait to read these short stories. I don’t yet have a copy but I will be buying one as soon as I can and then reading it immediately! I wont put the synopsis up for this one since it will definitely have spoilers.
Lifel1k3 by Jay Kristoff
This is another book that I have been waiting to read forever. The synopsis sounds exciting and I have really been wanting to read one of Jay Kristoff’s solo books for a long time. This book comes out on the 29th of May but I am going to the book release event on the 18th of May which I am really excited for and I will be definitely getting it signed 😀
On a floating junkyard beneath a radiation sky, a deadly secret lies buried in the scrap.
Eve isn’t looking for secrets—she’s too busy looking over her shoulder. The robot gladiator she’s just spent six months building has been reduced to a smoking wreck, and the only thing keeping her Grandpa from the grave was the fistful of credits she just lost to the bookies. To top it off, she’s discovered she can destroy electronics with the power of her mind, and the puritanical Brotherhood are building a coffin her size. If she’s ever had a worse day, Eve can’t remember it.
But when Eve discovers the ruins of an android boy named Ezekiel in the scrap pile she calls home, her entire world comes crashing down. With her best friend Lemon Fresh and her robotic conscience, Cricket, in tow, she and Ezekiel will trek across deserts of irradiated glass, infiltrate towering megacities and scour the graveyard of humanity’s greatest folly to save the ones Eve loves, and learn the dark secrets of her past.
Even if those secrets were better off staying buried.
Fables, Volume 6: Homelands by Bill Willingham, Mark Buckingham, and David Hahn
I am loving the Fables graphic novel series and I cannot wait to continue on with it. I am loving the way that it is going, I love all of the character and relationship development that is going on and I really want to see what happens next. Once again I wont give the synopsis since I am quite a few books in.
What books are you guys planning to read this month? Also if you have read any of these books let me know what you thought of them 😀
Thank you for reading!
