Top 5 Books I Loved That Others Didn’t | T5T

It’s Tuesday again which means another Top 5 Tuesday. This meme was created by Shanah at the Bionicbookworm and each week we get some fun bookish topics to talk about. This weeks topic is top 5 books I loved that others didn’t. This one I actually find to be quite hard to answer since I usually read pretty popular books that everyone enjoys and that is what gets me to read them, however there are a few exceptions to this as if a book has a really cool synopsis and sounds like something that I will enjoy then bad reviews don’t often put me off reading it. Anyway with that said lets get onto my top 5 books that I loved that others didn’t;

The Matched series by Ally Condie

Matched Series Covers

This is a series that a lot of people do not like because they see it as unoriginal or just not particularly exciting but I really enjoyed, especially the first book which I absolutely loved. I really enjoyed this world and seeing how their Utopian society functions, I loved the characters and really felt for all of them, and I also really enjoyed how the story went over the whole series and was very happy with the ending 🙂

The Twilight series by Stephenie Meyer

This is a series that almost everyone knows about and for quite awhile it was a popular thing to hate this series but I absolutely love it! This was the series that got me into reading so there is so much nostalgia for me surrounding it. I read this series multiple times as a teenager and I have watched the movies too many times to count, I actually do a movie marathon of them at least three times a year 🙂 This is really a guilty pleasure kind of read for me and I will always love this series.

The Age of X series by Richelle Mead

I absolutely loved this series as I have loved everything that Richelle Mead has written but this is the least liked of all of her series. Not only do readers not enjoy this series but the publisher also didn’t like it and dropped the last book in the series leaving us without an ending. Even though so many people haven’t liked it I still think that it is great, I love the characters and the mythology involved and I have been waiting out for the next book for years now and unfortunately we most likely will never get one.

The Next Together series by Lauren James

23266378

I am having a bit of trouble with coming up with five books so I don’t know if people don’t actually like this book but it is one of the lowest rated books on Goodreads that I love so that is why it is on this list. I really enjoyed this book, I really liked the format, the characters and how we see these characters at different points in history.

Firstlife by Gena Showalter

16853327

This is another one that is one of the lowest rated books on Goodreads that I love. although I have seen quite a few readers DNF-ing this book. I really enjoyed the premise of this book and the characters were all really interesting.

Thank you for reading

  1. Agree with you putting Twilight on the list. I loved that series! Yes, some points were eye roll worthy, but I couldn’t help but fall for it completely! As for your others, I haven’t read them, but I have noticed that a lot of people have negative things to say about them. So glad you enjoyed them!
    Thanks so much for participating – added you to the list 🙂

  2. I really liked reading the Matched series from what I remember. It has been a while since I read them but I do remember enjoying them. And I am in the exact same boat with you with Twilight. They are the books that really got me into reading like a true bookworm. I can’t dispute them for that. And I do like to read them again every now and then- a little guilty pleasure. Wasn’t a fan of the films though, I’m afraid 😦
